PARABLE OF THE GOOD SAMARITAN:The Good Samaritan is a fictional figure not a historical figure that Jesus used to teach us who our neighbor should be:
Who is my neighbor: My neighbor is everyone created in the image and likeness of God; every human person irrespective of creed, color, race, nationality and tongue.
Four things we can learn from the parable of the Good Samaritan.
LOVE: The Good Samaritan has love for his fellow human being. He has love in his heart. It was this love that moved him to help. The Ten Commandments is divided into two: love of God and love of neighbor. We always gain by giving love. There is only one happiness in life: to love and to be loved. Where there is love, there is life.
INDIFFERENCE: I don’t care attitude, ignoring the suffering, pain and misfortune of others, it’s not my business, it doesn’t concern me. Not an attitude of a Christian. Indifference hurts more than angry words.indifference is the epitome of evil. Love will find a way, indifference will find an excuse. Indifference is dangerous. We can overcome indifference.
( Indifference hurts more than angry words.indifference is the epitome of evil. Love will find a way, indifference will find an excuse. Indifference is dangerous. NOT MY WORDS)
HELPING OTHERS: Helping others is such a good thing. What ever good we do for others , we do for ourselves. Helping others is the way we help ourselves////Helping one person might not change the whole world, but it could change the world for one person/////A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal/////////Somewhere along the way, we must learn that there is nothing greater than to do something for others…MLKJnr.//////////Helping others in their time of need is the best gift to humanity/////// Only by giving are we able to receive more than we already have///////We rise by lifting others//// Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile by Albert Einstein////Small acts of love and kindness, when multiplied by millions of people can transform the world///////We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone by Ronald Reagan////////Helping others in need is not only a responsibility of life, it is what gives meaning to life.(THOUGHTS ON HELPING OTHERS WERE LARGELY WHAT OTHERS SAID ON HELPING PEOPLE)
RACISM: The good Samaritan challenges us to rise and transcend above racism and all forms of racial sentiments. People’s race, creed, religion, nationality and tongue should not be a determining factor for helping them. It is not fair. No one get to chose their race. We came into this world and found ourselves the way we are. The most important thing is that we all are children of God. We share a common humanity. There is a beauty each of us bring to this world. Our physical differences is just an accident of nature.
PRAYER:Let us pray to be like this good Samaritan to have the heart and the spirit of feeling the pain of others, being kind and generous to anyone we come across in life, to be sensitive and warm towards people and to reach out and help those in most need of our help.
