OPEN LETTER TO NIGERIAN YOUTHS IN THE WAKE OF 3 NIGERIAN YOUTHS ARRESTED IN CAMBODIA FOR DRUGS
Anyone who have ears, let them hear.
Dear Young People, in the wake of 3 Nigerians that were arrested in Cambodia for alleged drug trafficking, drug peddling and cocaine possession, i want to address those who are so desperate that they want to make it at all costs even if it means selling their soul to the devil or doing immoral things. The Holy writ reminds us that the love of money is the root of all evil. Lazy people want to reap where they did not sow. Lazy people want to make money without working for it. Wake up, life is not that way. To be a man is not a day’s job. It is not easy to make money. In life you have to work hard and do something legit and meaningful to make an honest living. The Bible said that anyone who refused to work should not eat. There is dignity in labor. There is joy, pride and fulfillment that comes from making money in the right way, making money from your sweat, not those making money from cocaine, yahoo yahoo, 419, theft and armed robbery, kidnapping, rituals and scam.
People who want to make it fast and cut corners die before their time. One of the problems our youths in Nigeria have is greed, overnight success, making it without working hard, wake up dear, life is not that way. You cannot cheat nature. You have to work hard before you enjoy. Richest and wealthiest people all over the world did not make their money overnight, it was a gradual process, it took some of them years. Some of our youths love money so much but they don’t want to work hard to earn the money, rather they want to do illegal things, cheat the system, circumvent the law, steal from people to become rich overnight.
Abroad is not for everybody. If everybody travels abroad, who will remain in Nigeria. Everybody must not travel abroad. Abroad is not meant for everybody. What are you traveling abroad for, what country are you planning to travel to, what do you intend doing there, have you asked or found out if the country has what you are looking for before going there. People travel, they did not have the required education to get a job, the job they get does not pay well because they are not educated. You cannot do business there and you become frustrated, instead of you to pack your bags and go home, you stay put and the next thing, you find yourself in crime.
Our youths know how to blame the government, the system. Everybody would not be employed by the government. Everybody will not have a job where they stay in an air conditioned office all day. What about skilled work, watch, phone and electrical repairs, plumbing, painting, car mechanics, computer repairs, what about farming, tailoring, fashion and designing, building, construction, petty business, event planning and management, cooking, interior decoration, learning of trade, driving/taxi/transportation etc. If you cannot find an opportunity, create one. we should stop complaining and blaming the government, there are a lot we can do on our own with little or no capital.
These 3 guys definitely will be jailed for life and this will sound as a note of warning to everyone. They have embarrassed themselves, their families, their country. These are those who give our country bad name for their selfish interest. Their pictures are now all over internet, they have been busted. Everyday is for the thief, one day is for the owner of the house. A word is enough for the wise. If you like continue carrying cocaine, swallow it, hide it in your brain, one day, the arm of the law will catch up with you, the evil that men do live with them. Same thing with those who swindle money from foreigners illegally, continue, one day karma will serve you what you deserve. Get off social media, stop slaying, go back to farm, go and learn how to sow, you can begin a cleaning company, by just getting one or two people and you go about cleaning people’s houses for pay, that is how it begins.
