SILENCE
Silence is profitable. Silence helps us to meditate and recollect. In silence and solitude an idea is conceived. Silence is healthy. Growth occurs in Silence. We reinvent ourselves in silence. Silence is spiritual. Silence requires discipline and self control. Ability to control the urge to speak determines the ability to control other emotions of the human person. A silent person is a productive person. Fruit is born in silence. In silence we listen and hear our heart. We can receive inspiration and intuition in silence. Beware of a friend who is a talkative. Sometimes, silence is necessary. Sometimes the best answer to people and situations is silence.
Silence means more than not speaking. We also have the silence of the heart. We live in a noisy world. We are constantly and frequently being bombarded with information through different platforms on social media, Facebook, Instagram, youtube, Snapchat, Twitter, emails, text messages, WhatsApp, viber, imo, television, films, news etc. sometimes we need to take some break and time out of this busy and noisy world and go to a quiet place and just be alone with yourself. Even in our hearts and minds, we experience some sort of noise, coming from cares, concerns and worries of life, they keep distracting us, bothering us, troubling our hearts and minds. We can train ourselves in such a way that we can temporarily free our minds from those things and just maintain the silence of the mind.
Knowing when to speak and when to keep silent is a sign of a mature person. Sometimes we have to be silent so that the mind can work. Silence is a good thing. It is important and necessary for us if we want to be productive, efficient and successful. There is a saying that empty drums make the most sound. People who talk too much are empty inside. Someone once said that we have two eyes, two ears and one mouth so that we can listen more, see more and speak less. Great men and women who have achieved a lot always valued silence. The best part of their days is when they have to practice silence. They look forward to it. The more we speak, the more we expend energy. The more we keep silent, the more we recover energy. Sometimes you have to enter into yourself by being silent, discover your self, understand better who you are, discover yourself, reconstruct yourself, rebuild yourself, critique yourself, look into yourself, evaluate yourself, assess yourself and correct yourself. In silence we tell ourselves the truth. It is not easy to practice silence but there is a lot of benefits that come from it. In houses of formation, silence is highly emphasized, in monasteries and in other institutions. There is healing, perception and intuition that can come with silence.
Learn to be silent at times. It is very helpful. It takes energy to talk. Sometimes, you got to save that energy.
