Google defines a saint as a person acknowledged as holy and virtuous and typically regarded as being in heaven after death.
A very Virtuous, kind or patient person according to Google.
We all are called to holiness
We all are called to be saints.
Being a saint is not only for a particular group of people.
Everybody is called to be a saint.
Being a saint has nothing to do with your race, tribe, color and nationality.
There is a capacity and ability within us to be saints and holy.
It has been given to us.
Some people have done it and so we can do it as well.
We are saints in the making.
We are potential saints.
There are a lot of good people in our world.
Saints are good people.
We all are called and encouraged to be good people.
Today, first of November, we celebrate the feast of all saints.
We honor All holy men and women.
Who have lived good lives here on earth and now they are living in glory, seeing God face to face.
Heaven is our ultimate goal.
Heaven is our final target and destination.
All we do here on earth determines whether we will end up there.
We are encouraged to work hard with determination like the saints not to miss the mark, not to miss heaven.
The celebration of All Saints presents these holy men and women to us as worthy examples to imitate and emulate. Their heroic life of virtue is presented to us so that we can follow in their footsteps.
This celebration encourages us and gives us hope that if these our brothers and sisters could make it, we too can make it to heaven.
This celebration strengthens our faith to know that we are been supported and cheered on by these holy men and women in our Christian discipleship and Life’s journey.
We invoke the saints to pray for us, to intercede for us before God since they now see him face to face. They have lived like us, they understand our pains, struggles, fears and concerns. Knowing that we have such good and holy people praying for us gives us hope, encourages us and makes us happy and joyful.
The saints have triumphed.
We look forward to our own triumph.
We try our best to do our best while here in this world.
God loves us so much that he wants us to live with him forever in eternal glory.
He will not force us.
He allows us to choose and make that decision whether we want or not.
One of the greatest pain on the last day when the Lord calls us home will be an eternal separation from God.
As we still have the time, let us make hay while the sun shines.
Let us be alert, vigilant and watchful.
Let us prepare and be ready just in case when the Lord comes knocking.
When you leave this world, how would you be remembered, would you be remembered as a nice person or a nasty person.
If you examine you life right now and asked to score yourself. Would you consider yourself as a good person or as someone who at least is making honest effort to live a good, holy and virtuous life.
Being a good person is not easy.
Following the way of Christ is not easy.
It requires constant effort.
It requires patience.
It requires commitment.
It requires grace of God.
It requires dedication.
It requires sacrifice.
As we celebrate All Saints today.
We also celebrate all good people around the world.
Those who make the world a better place by their goodness.
Even as we remind ourselves that we too are saints remote potency.
Sainthood is for all of us.
We all hope to make it someday.
Together with our brothers and sisters, we will see God face to face and Sing and proclaim his glory forever.
Happy All Saints day.
