Maybe you have been asking yourself this type of question recently.
you don’t really know where your next meal will come from?
You May be living from pay cheque to pay cheque.
You don’t even know where your next house rent will come from.
Same thing with all the bills you need to pay.
Maybe you have fallen under hard times.
Maybe things have been difficult for you financially.
You need help so desperately and so urgently.
You are worried and concerned about what is yet to be.
I want you to remember and pay attention to the words of Jesus in the gospel that we should not worry about what to drink, eat or wear. Life is much more than those.
Jesus also said in the gospel of Mathew 6:33, seek you first the kingdom of God and it’s righteousness and every other thing shall be added unto you.
Why can’t we take care of the problems of the day and forget about tomorrow.
Let tomorrow take care of itself.
The problem of today is already enough for the day.
Do not burden yourself yet with what is still in the future.
Take it one day at a time.
Ask God to give you the strength to do everyday what you need to do and to get through the challenges of each day.
We cannot see into the future but God can.
Our future is hidden from us so why do you worry unnecessarily about it.
If God can take care of your today, he will take care of your tomorrow.
If it pleases God to keep you alive till this day, he will provide and supply for your needs.
You cannot do it all by yourself, that’s why you have God.
Place your trust in him.
Children do not worry whether they will eat everyday because they trust and depend on their parents to provide for them.
That is exactly the same attitude we should have with God.
Instead of worrying about where the next meal will come from, thank God for sustaining and providing for you this day and ask him to take care of tomorrow.
As long as God is still on the throne, as long as he remains God, he will never forsake you or let you down.
God provided for Prophet Elijah.
God provided for the Widow of Zarephat.
God provided for the children of Israel in the desert.
God takes care of his Children.
If our earthly fathers know how to provide for and care for their children, how much more is God, the father of fathers.
What made you think that God who created the world, the cosmos, the universe will allow you to lack or go hungry.
He created the food, seeds, crops, plants, trees, fruits and animals, who do you suppose God to be? A mean God, a stingy God? Absolutely no.
If he can provide for the lillies of the valley, the flowers of the field, the birds of the air, why can’t he provide for you. You are worth more than birds and flowers.
When Jesus taught his disciples the Our father, he prayed that we be given this day not tomorrow our daily bread.
God will never allow you to go hungry.
Rather than worrying, begin to thank God, praise him and exalt him for his provision, for his abundance and for his eternal supply.
God never runs out.
He is never in short supply
Look at what he did at the wedding at Cana, when Jesus turned water into wine.He provided for the guests so that they can have enough to drink.
Remember when Jesus fed the five thousand, who could have believed that with two fishes and five loaves of bread, he could feed the multitude.
Do not underestimate the power of God.
Do not look down on God or take him for granted.
He is mighty and awesome.
It will shock and surprise you how he will provide for you even beyond your expectation.
God is good all the time.
God has enough food for everybody.
Just trust him.
God has a way of providing for everything he created.
Turn over the worry to God.
Not only about food.
But also about your bills, school fees, money for text books, your loans, your subscriptions and your payments.
There is no food for a lazy man.
St Paul instructed us that whoever refused to work should not eat.
if you sit at home watching television all day, manna will not fall from heaven for you.
You have to find an honest job where you can work hard to make money to support yourself and your family.
It is another thing when you work hard but the money is not enough to take care of your needful.
That is where God steps in and blesses your efforts and make it up for you.
God helps those who help themselves.
Lions have to put up a fight in order to get their food. They have to run, sometimes the have to put up with opposition and resistance, they fight so hard, sometimes they are injured in the process but that’s how they get to feed. If they don’t do that, they will go starving. As a matter of fact, they have to wander about searching for a prey or sometimes one crosses their path and they pursue it until they catch it for their meal. In the same way, like lions, we have to go out their and hustle and make a living to help make life easier and more comfortable for you and so that your basic needs would be adequately taken care of.
