YOU ARE NOT IN COMPETITION WITH ANYONE, STOP COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS:
Please, I don’t want you to die before your time or to have heart attack. Stop being too hard and harsh on yourself thinking that everyone has overtaken you in life. Take it easy with your self and stop overstretching your poor self. You are not in competition with anyone in this life. The only person you are in competition with is yourself. There is no competition in destiny. Everyone is different and unique and our path to success in life is also different and unique. Stop looking at other people and envying them unnecessarily. Run your own race, take your time, don’t rush yourself. Do not cause yourself high blood pressure unnecessarily.
There is no competition between sun and moon. Each come out and show up when it is their time. Your calling is different from the calling of the other person. Even people who have the same vocation, their path or the road to their vocation is not the same. Learn to be comfortable with your peculiarity and individuality. The earlier you stop feeling you are in competition with anybody, the more at peace you will be, the happier your life will be and the less pressure you put on yourself. Where there is competition there is tension and unease, there is anger and bitterness, there is frustration and jealousy. Spare yourself all these.
Secondly, stop comparing yourself to other people and stop comparing people with yourself. If you have not walked in people’s shoes, if you don’t know their story and journey of life, if you don’t know what the other person has been through and if you don’t know how long and how far they have come in life to where they are, you have no business comparing yourself to them or comparing them to yourself. Everyone has a story. Everyone has a problem. Everyone has challenges and struggles. Everyone has their burdens. They may not tell you. It may not look like it but it is the one that wears the shoe that knows where it hurts. If you are not close enough to someone, you won’t perceive the smell of their mouth. Therefore don’t just think or conclude that it is well with everyone, that everyone has it easy, that everyone else is blessed and lucky and privileged except you.
The irony of life is such that no matter how disadvantaged you think you are, there are people who admire you and want to be like you and there are people who think of you and see you in a certain light positively. You may be thinking no one loves you but there maybe people out there dying for you and praying that they get your attention one day. Therefore, stop comparing yourself to others. Be yourself, build your own brand, don’t try to impress anyone, be who you are and be comfortable with that.
